Fused Crew are created by combining two crew to create a new crew of the next rarity up. The first crew introduced in this way was Tuvix, and four more crew have been found since. Disruptor Beam does not generally announce these fusion crew, but may release hints directing people to experiment with certain characters. The combination of Indignant Seven and Mobile Doctor to make Indulgent Seven was the first to be openly announced by DB, as well as the first set to require a Legendary crew. The Fused Crew are usually a variant of both crew, for example if Neelix or Tuvok are Featured Crew for an Event then Tuvix will be one of the Bonus Crew (see Reconstruction), however Evolved Janeway is only a variant of Janeway.

Obtaining fused crew
To obtain a fused crew, a fully fused (but not immortalized) version of one of the crew in the pair must be combined with a version of the other crew, using the 'Upgrade' button as for normal fusion of extra copies of the same crew or using citations. The resulting fused character will have .
The second crew can be at any number of stars, but it is wasteful to use anything other than a card as all stars after the first are lost -- the resulting fused character will still only be . As with standard fusions, the level of the new fused character is equal to the highest level crew member used, and the newly-created character has the same equipment slots filled. Immortalized crew cannot be fused further to make a new crewmember.

The best strategy to obtain and level a fused character for the lowest expenditure of resources is to take one of the characters to level 99, fully equipped and maximum fusion level ( or depending on the character involved -- because of the difference in rarity, it is not recommended to use a Mobile Doctor to make Indulgent Seven, rather than fusing a Indignant Seven with a Mobile Doctor). They can then be fused with a level 1, unequipped version of the other character, resulting in a single copy of the new fused character.
In the event of levelling all the way to level 100, do not equip the final equipment slot, to prevent immortalization. You will then have to provide the final equipment required by the fused character after the fusion has taken place.
To obtain further stars for the fused character, the whole process can be repeated (without the need to level or equip either character), or citations can be used.
